The 8 day home-learning course – “treating the complex shoulder” introduces material in 4 layers, building up to a comprehensive library. Although we recommend this course takes 8 days, you can take as long as you like to complete it. Each of the 4 modules is accompanied by a professional multi-angle DVD, which you can watch again and again at your own leisure.

You will receive modules one at a time, and will asked to pause along your journey to answer a few questions in our reflective learning component. Having completed and returned this, you will be sent your next module. At the end of your training, you will receive a certificate and license to practice.

Module 1

In this module you will explore the anatomy, pathophysiology, neuro-physiology of shoulder pain. You will explore novel ideas and concepts such as Cortico-neuro-somatic-programming (CNSP) which will give you a new vocabulary for understanding somatic pain and dysfunction. By day two you will start learning how to perform effective hands-on therapy for a range of shoulder problems – being supported and guided via the module 1 - DVD, reflective learning tools and web support.

Module 2

In this module you will be guided into how to take a specific, relevant and concise case history, analyze this data, examine the shoulder and make an appropriate diagnosis. On day four you will be exploring the Niel-Asher technique in much greater depth and be guided into the subtleties and complexities of this uniquely effective approach. Again, being supported and guided via the module 2 - DVD, reflective learning tools and web support.

Module 3

Module three re-enforces and consolidates your journey by exploring the differential diagnosis of the frozen shoulder and a wide range of other complex shoulder problems. You will be guided through clinical testing and be given the tools to differentially diagnose and develop treatments for your diagnosis. By the end of this module we are confident that you really will be an expert in understanding shoulder pathologies. Again, being supported and guided via the module 3 - DVD, reflective learning tools and web support.

Module 4

In module 4 you will be guided in how to structure treatments for the unilateral and bilateral presentations. You will be shown how to make a prognosis and how to sequence therapy. You will also explore treatment for a variety of other complex shoulder problems. Day eight is our unique, trouble shooting reference guide, which is designed o answer any questions you may have about complex and/or difficult cases which may present to you. In this module you will also be guided through a real case via 2 DVD's in which Simeon Niel-Asher navigates an extremely complex and difficult patient from beginning to end. Again, being supported and guided via the module 4 - DVD, reflective learning tools and web support.
